A Sneak Peek of the 2021 Jack Daniel’s® Limited Edition Indian

A Sneak Peek of the 2021 Jack Daniel's® Limited Edition Indian

Indian Motorcycle plans to release a new limited edition tourer next year! This model is a continuation of their collaborative series with Jack Daniels®.

If you love both brands, then this version of the Roadmaster Dark Horse may be the perfect model for you.

This is Indian’s fifth collaboration with Jack Daniel’s. The two brands began their partnership in 2016. The 2021 model will be the Jack Daniel’s® Limited Edition Indian Roadmaster Dark Horse.

To learn more about this unique tourer, continue reading below!

Design

According to Indian, the design of the 2021 Jack Daniel’s Limited Edition Roadmaster Dark Horse was inspired by the Jack Daniel’s Gentleman Jack beverage and the original distiller, Daniel “Jack Daniel” Call.

This tourer has a “whiskey-pearl” paint job. Its custom color is complemented by beautiful oak wood accents. Indian states that these design features were inspired by the Gentleman Jack crafting process in which the spirit is aged in handcrafted oak barrels.

This year’s collab also features Jack Daniel’s branding on the seat and tank. “Gentleman Jack” is also engraved on both floorboards.

Now, we know what you’re thinking. This could either look really odd or really awesome. However, Indian assures that this branding is executed tastefully. Check it out for yourself here

Another unique design element is the Oakwood ceramic finish on the engine, another nod to Jack Daniel’s meticulous aging process.

And, the cherry on top is that each bike comes with a one-of-a-kind Silversmith badge. Each one will be engraved with that bike’s unique identification number.

Performance

We can assume that the engine of the 2021 Limited Edition Roadmaster Dark Horse will be the same as the 2020 Indian Roadmaster Dark Horse, which features the Thunder Stroke 116 V-Twin.

This engine has a torque of 126 ft-lb. Indian prides itself on maintaining this amount of power at a low rpm of 2,900

The 2020 Dark Horse also features closed-loop fuel injection (54 mm bore). We can also expect a 6-speed transmission.

Dimensions

We can also assume that the dimensions of the 2021 Limited Edition Roadmaster Dark Horse will be equal to those of the 2020 Roadmaster Dark Horse.

The 2020 model has a weight of 858 pounds, a seat height of 26.5 inches and an overall height of 58.7 inches.

Even though this motorcycle is quite heavy, it does have a considerably low seat height, which is great if you have a short inseam. For comparison, the Harley-Davidson SuperLow has a seat height of 27.8 inches. So, if you’re small in stature, this bike may still be an option for you.

Moreover, the Limited Edition Roadmaster Dark Horse has a lean angle of 31 degrees. Motorcycles typically have a lean angle between 25 – 50.

And, its rake (angle of the steering head of the frame) is 25 degrees. This is slightly more steep than that of the typical cruiser.

Lastly, its fuel capacity is 5.5 gallons, which is considered an adequate volume for touring

Features

The 2021 Jack Daniel’s Limited Edition Roadmaster Dark Horse features Indian’s new Pathfinder® Adaptive LED Headlights with Pathfinder® S LED Driving Lights.

Indian describes these lights as having “cutting-edge technology” that “complement a truly classic bike.” According to their website, these lights deliver a “clean, powerful light that is significantly brighter than the stock headlight.”

The second new feature on this model is the ClimaCommand® controlled seat. This heating/cooling technology is designed to make the riding experience more comfortable.

Price

The Limited Edition Indian Roadmaster Dark Horse has an MSRP (Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price) of $38,999. To put things in perspective, the original Roadmaster Dark Horse is one of the most expensive Indian models, outside of its “Elite” model series.

The 2020 Roadmaster Dark Horse has an MSRP of $29,999, which is $9,000 more than the Jack Daniel’s collab version. But, is it worth the premium?

When it comes down to features, the 2020 Roadmaster Dark Horse does not have ClimaCommand® seat technology. And, the 2020 Roadmaster Dark Horse does come with LED lights, however, they do not have Pathfinder® or adaptive technology.

The premium price of the limited edition version also reflects its custom paint job, Jack Daniel’s branding and unique oak finishes.

Furthermore, the 2020 version is available in Thunder Smoke Black, White Smoke and Bronze Smoke, which all have a demi-matte finish, as opposed to the glossy-reflective finish on the 2021 limited edition version.

And, of course, the premium price also reflects the rarity of this model. Since it’s part of a limited-edition lineup, only a small number of models will be produced.

In Conclusion

So, is the Limited Edition Indian Roadmaster Dark Horse your cup of tea? (Or, whiskey for that matter.)
